Esomeprazole magnesium is a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the proton pump.Nexium® is indicated for the management of conditions associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD; acid reflux, heartburn) and peptic ulcers; it may also be used in combination with antibiotics for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection. This product is a prescription medication that must be prescribed by a Hong Kong-registered physician and used under the guidance of a pharmacist.
